In accordance with the new e-visa system that has been introduced, border authorities will maintain existing procedures for a certain transitional period. As a result of recent efforts in order to make the transitional period for the new e-visas procedure as smooth as possible, the deadline for the transitional period has been extended until end of December 2014.
During the transition period (now until 31 December 2014), the visas can be obtained both online (via www.evisa.gov.tr ) & at the port of entry. Visitors arriving in Turkey without an e-Visa will be able to obtain them via interactive kiosks located at Turkish airports until this deadline.
e-Visa application is possible from any place with internet connection. Applicants just need to log on to www.evisa.gov.tr , provide the requested information, (after the application is approved) make online payment ($20US for UK citizens) and download their e-Visa. The whole process takes no more than 10 minutes.
