1 lb lamb or beef
Red/yellow/green pepper, cut into chunks
2-3 medium onions, cut into quarters
(any other kind of vegetables you fancy)
1-2 cloves of minced garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp cumin
½ tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1tbsp lemon juice
Wooden / metal skewers
Combine garlic, olive oil, cumin, paprika, salt and lemon juice in a mixing bowl.
Cut meat into 1 to 2 inch cubes for quick, even cooking.
Add meat into marinade and mix.
Leave to marinate for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight in fridge).
Drain the meat and discard the marinade.
Put meat and vegetables on skewers. If you are using wooden skewers soak in water for 30 minutes, to prevent them catching fire.
Cook Shish Kebabs on the grill, electric grill or bake in oven at 400F (200C) till all sides are tender and golden.
